7/29/17 – Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt plans to light up a Beaver Dam park this winter. As a part of his graduating project from Leadership Beaver Dam, which prepares the next generation of community leaders, his group will be stringing up Christmas lights at Swan Park during the upcoming holiday season. During a recent appearance on WBEV’s Community Comment, Schmidt says the plan put lights in the trees, band shell, and maybe on the spring house. He says the Beaver Dam Wal-Mart has already donated $2,500 to the project but they could still use some financial help trying to reach their goal of $10,000 this year. Schmidt says anyone interested in supporting can make a check out to the Dodge County Law Enforcement Explorer Post and send it the Sheriff’s office. The goal is to have everything ready to go by late November.
