Dodge County Hosting Broadband Informational Meetings

(Juneau) Two upcoming informational meetings will shed some light on Dodge County’s efforts to expand broadband coverage. The county began a feasibility study several months ago with the goal of bringing improved broadband service to households and businesses.

The study analyzed existing broadband assets, including those offered by local telecom service providers, cable companies and government organizations that provide communication services through schools and first responders. The county hired Design Nine, a firm that specializes in broadband planning, to develop recommendations and a strategic road map for better service in the region.

County officials say Design Nine’s assessment is in draft form and ready to get feedback on their preliminary findings. The meetings will cover the best options for Dodge County moving forward, how will broadband be funded, and the current status of the county’s broadband program, among other things.

The first meeting will be at 2pm on January 24th at 127 East Oak Street in Juneau. The second meeting will be at 6pm. Those interested in going are asked to RSVP. To do so contact broadband@co.dodge.wi.us or call 920-386-3266. You must include your name and time that you will be attending.
