(Juneau) The percentage of weekly positive COVID-19 tests dipped throughout the region last week but still remains at a concerning level for health officials. That is according to the latest update from the Dodge County Health Department which says from December 7th through the 13th, 657 people out of the 1,853 tested were confirmed to have the coronavirus; a rate of 35-percent. The previous week the number was 45-percent. Health officials say the goal is a percentage lower than five with a downward trajectory of a cases. The county has not dipped below 20-percent since September and the rate has not been under 10-percent since August. Lowering the percentage rate of weekly positive tests would allow Dodge County to move out of phase-one of its three-phase Safe Restart Plan, which recommends guidelines for businesses, social gatherings and community events. The number of cases and hospital space remain in the red while contact tracing is in the yellow. The only metrics of the plan in the green are testing and personal protective equipment.
