Dodge County Fairgrounds Plants Remembrance Shade Trees

(Dodge County) The Dodge County Fairgrounds is looking to help families, friends, and organizations honor and remember loved ones with the planting of an ever-lasting shade tree on the fairgrounds.  Every year more than 10 trees are planted in remembrance of someone lost, or by businesses as a permanent imprint on the Dodge County Fairgrounds.

In years past many of the fairgrounds more mature trees have been lost due to a previous outbreak of the emerald ash borer disease.  The new, memorial shade trees, come from local Brehm’s Wonder Creed Nursery, and will help provide cooling shade for visitors to the fairgrounds many events, including the Dodge County Fair in August. Sponsored, professionally planted trees will include a small but prominent, personalized sign, identifying the sponsor or the loved one being remembered.

Individuals interested in sponsoring a tree will have two opportunities to do so, as trees are planted once in the spring and again in the fall. Orders can be placed in person at the Dodge County Fair office before and during the 2019 Dodge County Fair, scheduled this year for August 14-18, to guarantee planting this fall.   Additional Inquiries may be directed to Dale Norenberg at 920-885-3586 or dodgecountyfairgrounds@gmail.com.
