(Beaver Dam) The Dodge County Fair Association has received part of over $27-million-dollars in grants to event venues and live event small businesses. Governor Tony Evers recently released the funds to 204 recipients throughout the state as part of his $140-million-dollar investment to support tourism and entertainment industries. The Dodge County Fair Association is getting $200-thousand-dollars. The Fond du Lac County Agricultural Society is in line for $136-thousand, Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake is receiving $73-thousand-dollars, and $200-thousand is going to the Lodi Agricultural Fair. Evers says these businesses pay a critical role in building a strong economy as they bring people together from all over the state and country. He adds that these funds will help small businesses that are an essential part of Wisconsin’s communities and entertainment industries. The event venue and live event small business assistance grants were created to address the revenue shortfalls experienced by event venues and small businesses that cater to live events during the pandemic. The combined programs are funded by the federal American Rescue Plan Act and administered by Department of Administration.
