Suspect Involved In Hit And Run Turns Himself In

(Town of Oak Grove) A Beaver Dam man suspected of seriously injuring a pedestrian in a hit-and-run accident Monday evening has turned himself into authorities. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says 41-year-old Colin Biel reported to the sheriff’s office around 7am on Tuesday after viewing the press release that had been sent out. At 7:18pm Monday, a 32-year-old Reeseville man was struck by a white pickup truck on County Road I near Highway 33 in the Town of Oak Grove. The victim was located in the ditch by another driver. He was transported to the Beaver Dam Community Hospital by Beaver Dam Paramedics and then taken by Flight For Life to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee with serious injuries. Biel reportedly left the scene after striking the pedestrian. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says Biel was booked into the county jail and felony charges of Hit and Run and Causing Injury are being requested of the Dodge County District Attorney’s Office. Schmidt is reminding motorists that leaving the scene of a crash is a serious offense, especially when someone is injured. The identity of the victim is being withheld for 24 hours while family is notified.
