Dodge County DA Wants No More Delays In Fox Lake Murder Case

12/22/17 – The Dodge County District Attorney wants to see no more delays in the case against Fox Lake murder suspect Laverne Ware Jr. After multiple council changes, Ware’s new attorney Anthony Cotton asked Judge Brian Pfitzinger Thursday for an extension to file motions. Cotton says it would be unrealistic for his office to sort through all the information prior to the original deadline, which was today. DA Kurt Klomberg said this case has been riddled with delays and fears that any further setbacks could postpone the two-week jury trial that is currently scheduled to begin April 9. Pfitzinger set a drop-dead date of January 12 for the defense to file motions and a hearing on February 28 to cover them. All parties did agree that the April trial date is still feasible. Ware is accused of murdering his girlfriend and first cousin, Sesalie Dixon, last December. The 27-year-old was found in the cab of Ware’s pick-up truck inside a Fox Lake garage with a gunshot wound to the head.
