Dodge County Could Move Into Phase Three Of Safe Restart Plan Soon

(Juneau) Dodge County could be moving into Phase Three of its Safe Restart Plan soon if COVID numbers continue to trend in a positive direction. Health Officer Abby Sauer says the downward trajectory of percentage of positive tests, a key metric of the plan, has improved in recent weeks. During a recent appearance on WBEV’s Community Comment, Sauer explained why Dodge County has remained in Phase Two of the plan. She says the case count has gone up due to recent large gatherings, adding that the county is being (quote) “a little cautious” moving into Phase Three. Case count is the only metric of the plan in the yellow while testing, hospital space, personal protective equipment and contact tracing are in the green. Under Phase Two of the plan, health officials recommend limiting capacity in non-essential businesses, bars, restaurants and organizations to 50-percent, compared to 25-percent under Phase One.
