Dodge County Clerk Encourages Early Voter Registration

(Juneau) Despite no fall elections this year in Wisconsin, the Dodge County Clerk is still encouraging citizens to register to vote. Karen Gibson says people can check their voter status at www.myvote.wi.gov. Gibson says those who changed their name or address should update their information so they are ready to vote in 2020. She says 2020 voting begins in February with a primary election for justice of the supreme court. There will also be elections in April, August and November. Gibson says the state does allow for voter registration on Election Day, however pre-registering avoids people from having to wait in long lines at the polling place. She says voters who register beforehand will not have to fill out forms and will only need to show an acceptable photo ID to receive a ballot.
