Dodge County Clerk Details Absentee Voting Process

(Juneau) The Dodge County clerk explained the process of absentee voting during a recent appearance on WBEV’ Community Comment. Karen Gibson says due to the primary election last month, absentee ballots will likely not be available until early next week, Monday or Tuesday. She says there are a few ways to obtain or vote absentee. She says absentee voting can be done in person at your local municipal office or an individual can request an absentee through the mail, email or by the www.myvote.wi.gov site. Gibson says requesting an absentee ballot through the mail must be received by their municipal clerk by April 2nd and encourages people to begin the process much earlier to avoid missing the deadline. She says if a person is absentee voting through the mail, there is a special absentee ballot certificate envelope that must be signed by the voter and a witness. She says to be sure that it is signed or their ballot will not be counted.
