Documentary Featuring Horicon Marsh Wins Emmy

(Horicon) A PBS documentary featuring the Horicon Marsh won an Emmy Award. The “Wisconsin’s Scenic Treasures: Southern Vistas” program was given the Emmy for Outstanding Achievement for Documentary Programs – Cultural category. Filmed by PBS Wisconsin from the air, land and water, the documentary showcases state parks, natural areas, wildlife areas and forests, many of them held in trust and managed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural ResourcesHundreds of hours of aerial panoramas and ground-level video helped create the 60-minute adventure, highlighting the striking visual and ecological diversity of Wisconsin’s natural landscapes. Along with the Horicon Marsh, the documentary featured Ridgeway Pine Relict, Lulu Lake, Quincy Bluff, and Devil’s Lake, among other state parks.
