(Horicon) The Department of Natural Resources is stocking pheasants at 25 state properties including two in Dodge County. The pheasant stocking began in 2017 to provide hunters an additional opportunity to hunt during the holiday season.
In Dodge County, state properties to be stocked include the Horicon Marsh Wildlife Area and the Mud Lake Wildlife Area. The DNR will stock 2,800 pheasants across 25 state properties over a two-day period this week.
DNR State Game Farm Manager Kelly Maguire says they are excited to again offer this unique hunting opportunity at a time when friends and family are gathering to make incredible outdoor memories. She says the selected areas are located near population centers to provide accessible opportunities to as many hunters as possible.
The pheasant season in Wisconsin runs until January 8th.
