(Wisconsin) The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is reminding eligible hunters statewide that signup is open for Fall Gun Deer Hunt for Hunters with Disabilities until September 15th. There are thousands of acres available for this year’s hunt, so hunters should contact potential sponsors directly, and as soon as possible to determine availability.
Hunters or assistants should also contact their sponsors to sign up for a hunt and provide their name, contact information, and DNR customer ID number. To be eligible, hunters must possess a valid Class A, C, or D disabled permit or qualifying Class B permit.
Eligible hunters may also sign up for one sponsored property per year and must possess a gun deer license. The DNR says this unique experience has allowed hunters with disabilities the thrill of hunting whitetails for over 30 years, and it would not be possible without the generosity of landowners.
