Aunt Mabel’s Sugar Cookies

1 c. powdered sugar

1 c. white sugar

1 c. margarine

1 c. oil

2 eggs

2 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking soda

5 c. flour

1 tsp. cream of tartar

Combine sugars with margarine and oil. Beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. In separate bowl, sift together dry ingredients: salt, soda, baking powder, cream of tartar and flour. Add to creamed mixture. Roll teaspoonful of dough into balls and drop onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten with bottom of glass dipped in water and colored sugars. Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes.
