DCSO vs. BDPD Softball Fundraiser Game Is Saturday

(Beaver Dam) The fourth annual Dodge County Sheriff’s Office versus the Beaver Dam Police Department Softball Fundraiser Game is Saturday, September 21st. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says funds raised will be going towards a good cause.

“All of this money being raised doesn’t support the sheriff’s office and it doesn’t support Beaver Dam PD…that money is being raised to support an employee of the city of Beaver Dam,” says Schmidt. “There is an employee in the city of Beaver Dam that is…beating, she’s going to fight it…cancer. We’re getting some funds together to help with all of those costs, because it’s not a cheap ordeal to go through as an individual.”

Schmidt adds that there will be a lot of great raffle prizes to bid on.

“And some really great people and organizations that helped donate…Walmart gave us three grills…one’s a grill skillet…two of them are grill smokers,” says Schmidt. “Vortex…who takes care of us for our sights on our pistols…they donated a red-dot sight…that’s about a $280 sight that they donated. We’ve got all kinds of different raffles out there that are going to be there again…we always have such a great response from the community to help out with that.”

Schmidt says the popular pie-in-the-face contest is making a return. This year’s contestants, Dodge County District Attorney Adrea Will and Beaver Dam School District Superintendent Mark DiStefano, will also serve as umpires.

Patrol squads and fire vehicles will be on display and there will be mid-inning games for the kids. Concessions will also be available. There is no cost to enter as all proceeds raised will be through raffles and concession sales.

The public is encouraged to head out to the Beaver Dam Athletic Field West Diamond at 11am. First pitch is set for 11:30am.
