(Elba) Local law enforcement are investigating two deaths that are believed to be connected. Read the full press release from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office:
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation on Oak Grove Rd in the Town of Elba. Sheriff’s office detectives are investigating what occurred.
Also, the Columbus Police Department is investigating a death that occurred in the Emergency/Urgent Care lobby of Prairie Ridge Health, 1515 Park Ave, Columbus. Investigators are currently on the scene at this location investigating as well.
While the investigations into these two death scenes are still ongoing, it is believed that both incidents are related, and a joint investigation is ongoing. There is no risk to the public or the hospital, but the emergency/urgent care entrance of the hospital is closed but expected to reopen soon. If a member of the public does need to be seen at this location and the entrance is still closed, staff will direct individuals to an adjacent entrance for their medical needs.
No further details are being released right now regarding these death investigations out of respect for next of kin as they work to notify their families, but further details are expected to be released on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
