(Juneau) The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is helping their law enforcement partners in Louisiana following Hurricane Ida. The department along with 71 other Wisconsin sheriff’s offices will be providing hurricane relief as part of an effort by the Badger State Sheriff’s Association. The initiative is part of the Sheriff’s Adopting Sheriff’s relief project which is designed to help sheriff’s employees and their families who have been personally impacted by this natural disaster. To highlight this effort, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in a charity softball game against members of the Beaver Dam Police Department. Proceeds from the event will be split between Beaver Dam Police Charities and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office. All funds going to the sheriff’s office will be donated to help out employees of sheriff’s offices in Louisiana. Also, matching funds up to $500 are being donated at this event from financial representative Cassandra Schmidt of Modern Woodmen of America. The game will be played on October 2nd at 12:30pm at the Beaver Dam Athletic Field. Those who would like to send a check, can do so by dropping off a donation directly to Sheriff Dale Schmidt. The public is asked to make all checks payable to the Badger State Sheriff’s Association.
