Daryl “Curly” Pahl

Daryl “Curly” Pahl, 85, of Verona, formerly of Waupun, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Willow Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care.

Daryl was born May 28, 1932 in Waupun the son of Alfred and Myrtle Rohrschneider Pahl. Daryl graduated from Waupun High School in 1950. In 1953 he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He served in Korea and Japan. Daryl worked at National Rivet and later at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. On November 5, 1955 he married Nola Ulrich in Waupun. Following their marriage the couple resided in Waupun until 1992 at which time they moved to Madison. While residing in Waupun, Daryl was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Prior to their move to Madison, Daryl was serving as Deputy Representative at the William S. Middleton Hospital for the Disabled American Veterans. He later became Representative which he served as for 20 years. Daryl was known throughout the hospital for his infectious smile. Daryl was also a member of the Madison Veterans Council Firing Squad, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Korean War Association.

Daryl is survived by his wife, Nola Pahl of Madison; a daughter, Charmaine (Greg) Duppler of Plymouth, MN; two grandchildren: Megan (Scott) Applewick of Minneapolis, andAndrew Duppler of Minneapolis; and a sister, Donna Kirchberg of Kenosha

Daryl was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Daryl Pahl will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 12 noon at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Rev. Jeff Nicla officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun.  Friends and relatives may call on the family on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
