Central Wisconsin Christian will be giving their student athletes a chance to participate against other schools during the next few weeks when they host a girls volleyball and boys basketball tournament.
The girls volleyball team will host a round robin varsity and JV event this Saturday morning. The boys basketball team will host six varsity teams and four JV squads for a tournament on August 1st.
There will be COVID-19 precautions put into place event to ensure a safe playing environment. Each player brings individual water bottles, drinking fountains are turned off but the bottle fillers are on. No fans outside of parent volunteers will be allowed into the venue. Each team is being asked to bring their own warm up balls. CWC will provide a game ball which will be sanitized between games. Hand sanitizer will be provided. There will be no concessions. Masks are not required but left up to each individual if they wish to wear one.
Central Wisconsin Christian Athletic Director Mark Vander Werff says that they felt it was important to host these is events to help with the emotional health of their student athletes who have gone through so much over the last few month.
