The Central Wisconsin Christian boys basketball team hopes that a fast pace and balanced attack will push them towards the top of the Trailways East Conference standings this season.
CWC brings back three starters and a pair of seniors who received Honorable Mention All-Trailways accolades last season in Max Vander Werff (7ppg 6rpg) and Riley Westra (7ppg, 4rpg), Senior Benn McKean (7ppg, 2rpg) also returns to the starting lineup this season. Sophomore Will Syens (7ppg, 3 rpg) is also back after a strong freshman campaign.
“We’ll play unselfish basketball this year. The guys are really going to share the ball. They believe in one another.” Head Coach Josh Gibbons told DailyDodge.com. “They don’t really care who’s going to score. We had 14 assists (in the opener) and that should be the MO this year. We’re going to try and play fast and get up and down the floor and make it entertaining for anyone who can come and watch us play.”
CWC is already off to a 1-0 start after picking up a 73-56 win at Dodgeland in their season opener last Thursday night. The Crusaders will next be in action on Tuesday night when they host Valley Christian.
