(Caledonia) A convicted sex offender will be living in a Columbia County town. Authorities say James Amour will be residing at N6590 West Lane Road in the township of Caledonia after his release from the Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center on December 16th.

The 60-year-old will be under the supervision of the Portage Office of Probation and Parole. Amour cannot consume alcohol or take drugs, have contact with minors, he must comply with standard sex offender rules, cooperate with electronic monitoring, and follow curfew.

Law enforcement say the release of this information is to enhance public safety and awareness. They add that citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass will not be tolerated.

Amour was convicted of First-Degree Sexual Assault in 1987. He was placed under civil commitment in 1996, where he has remained since.
