9/5/12 – Construction has been completed on the new Shopko “Hometown” Store in Columbus. Developers hope the store will be the first of many to locate on the “Commerce Center” land on the northwestern edge of the City. Shopko has started to fill the shelves of the 35 thousand square-foot building. The new Shopko Hometown store is located on land visible from highway 151 near the intersection with state roads 16 and 60. An expected 25 to 35 employees from the Columbus / Fall River area are expected to be working at the store. The doors will be opening on September 24th with a public Grand Opening event scheduled shortly after.
