Community Turns Out To BDHS Homecoming Parade

  1. 10/7/17 – Its homecoming weekend in Beaver Dam. Overcast skies and a few sprinkles did not stop hundreds upon hundreds of spectators donned in green and gold from lining the streets of downtown Beaver Dam Friday for the high school’s annual homecoming parade.  School spirit was high as local businesses chalked their windows with slogans supporting the Golden Beavers and students with died green and yellow hair screamed while little kids scurried for candy.   There were floats from various student organizations, the homecoming court and the Golden Beavers football team. Incoming Superintendent Mark DiStefano says there was a high amount of school spirit this week with students really involved and the administration doing a great job organizing activities. While the weather was not perfect, DiStefano says the right decision was made to go ahead with the parade and also hold the pep rally outdoors. He notes that the school board float says “thank you” because they want to thank the community for supporting the district.
