(Beaver Dam) Residents are invited to attend the Community Impact Fundraiser at Pizza Ranch in Beaver Dam Monday, October 14th. Fielding Hope will be using the funds raised through a sales percentage, tips, donations, silent auctions, and raffle baskets to send a disabled veteran to major league baseball fantasy camp in Arizona this spring.
Fielding Hope Founder and Executive Director Steve Gilboy shared the organization’s goal is not just about getting disabled veterans to play baseball, but rather the sense of community and belonging that the sport brings along with it.
“It’s not about baseball, baseball is about 20 percent of this whole thing. It’s camaraderie, it’s sitting around looking at hall of famers, sitting next to them.”
The fundraiser takes place from 4pm to 8pm today, at Beaver Dam Pizza Ranch located at 1520 North Spring Street.
