Columbus Set To Celebrate 4th of July

7/4/17 – There will be several events celebrating the 4th of July holiday happening in Columbus. The six-day festival got underway yesterday at Fireman’s Park and runs through this Saturday. Organizer Tory Weidemann shared some of the activities that will be going on. The Firecracker 5 run/walk starts at 7:15, the Columbus 4th of July Parade begins at noon, T.J. Howell will play by the brat stand at 2:30pm, a Mexican ballet will perform, bingo will be making its return, and Dexter Road will be on the main stage at 5:30pm. Weidemann says they added a second stage this year so there could be more band performances. He says this event is very family orientated. Fireworks start tonight at around dusk, weather permitting. Weidemann says any changes to the schedule will be updated on their Facebook page. Also, Friesland will set off their fireworks tonight at Village Square and Beaver Dam’s will be July 7th and 8th at Tahoe Park.
