Columbus Sells Business Park Acreage

2/17/12 – Seventy-five-acres in the Westside Business Park in Columbus was sold this week. The city council unanimously approved sale of the land to Christopher Hookstead for $475,000.

The land had been on the market for about five years and those wishing to purchase it had to submit bids to the city by late last month. An attorney for Hookstead said his client plans to farm the land. The council went into closed session to discuss the offer before approval. Money from the sale is not earmarked for anything specific and will go into a special fund until a decision is made on its use.
