3/15/12 – Columbus Schools Facilities Committee has been briefed on the energy saving if the District’s buildings were renovated or new buildings built. The Architects reported that renovation of the Elementary School could save $37 thousand dollars annually. The Architects projected that energy costs could be reduced from the current dollar twenty-one per square foot. Dufek said that 90 cents per square foot would be possible if a new sixth thru twelfth grade building was built. The Committee is looking to complete referendum recommendations to the School Board by March 26th.
