2/28/17 – The Columbus School Board is accepting bids for the construction of a replacement high school track. The 57-year-old rubberized track has been resurfaced four times: in 1973, 1981, 2006 and 2014. Officials said at last night’ meeting that Columbus can no longer host competitive meets because of deterioration of the base surface of the two inside lanes. Replacement of the high school track could cost the district as much as $200-thousand-dollars. The track replacement is expected to be a summer project. No deadline for the construction bids has been set at this time.
