5/14/17 – Officials with the Columbus School District spent a whole year working with staff and an insurance broker to plan the employee benefits package for the 2017-2018 school year. The plan was approved by the school board at this week’s meeting. Insurance broker spokesperson Breanna Hellenbrand with M3 said that the package is a prime example of district employee and insurance company collaboration. M3 is an insurance broker from Madison that has worked with several school district insurance providers. Hellenbrand says the new insurance package will save the district and estimated $450,000 dollars. The new Columbus School District health plan will go into effect on July 1.
