(Columbus) The Columbus Recreational Department recently announced the winners of the 2024 Holiday Decorating Contest. In District 1, 700 Spring Street took home the cake with 237 West Prairie St. sliding into second. District 2 saw 137 North Birdsey St. take home first prize and 1360 Waterloo Street finished runner up. Lastly, 705 South Main St. was the top dog in District 3, with 209 Ridgeline Dr. finishing second.
The overall winner was 700 Spring St. First place receives a $50 dollar Visa gift card, second place receives a $25 Visa gift card, and the overall winner receives a $250 Visa gift card.
The favorite holiday movie was Elf and favorite holiday song was Jingle Bells. Also, the favorite Sparkle in the Park lights were Santa’s Workshop from Columbus Utilities and The Marine Corps Tree.
The rec department thanks everyone for participating and says that it could not have been done without the help of the community.
