(Columbus) A Columbus man was charged with his sixth OWI offense over the weekend. A Columbia County Sheriff’s deputy noticed a vehicle speeding on Saturday on Highway 16 in the Township of Columbus. The vehicle was pulled over after it entered the Village of Fall River and Brian Hellenbrand was reportedly identified as the driver. The deputy could allegedly smell an odor of intoxicants from the vehicle. Hellenbrand reportedly admitted to consuming alcohol that night. The 41-year-old was put through field sobriety testing and was then arrested. In addition to the OWI charge, Hellenbrand is facing charges of Operation after Revocation, Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device, and will be cited for speeding.
