Columbus Fire Engine Strikes Deer En Route To Call

11/13/17 – Emergency officials warn motorists during this time of year of the increased risks of deer darting out into the road and striking their vehicle. They should know, over the weekend the Columbus Fire Engine collided with a deer on the way to a fire call. It happened Sunday morning just after 1am on State Highway 73 at County Road DE. Columbus Fire Public Information Officer Jerrod Fox says there were no injuries, the damage was only cosmetic and the fire engine remains in service. The fire call turned out to be a false alarm.
