Columbus Fire Department Propane Training Successful

(Columbus) Columbus Fire Department personnel underwent training for a propane explosion this week. The department’s Public Information Officer, Lt. Jerrod Fox tells us that the training is increasingly important because more people in the country are using propane to heat their homes and the highways are full of trucks hauling propane. Not to mention all the backyard grills that are fired up over the warm weather months. Crews from Columbus, Fall River and Rio trained with flaming propane cylinders in the old Countryside parking lot. Fox says it is good to be prepared for any event that emergency responders encounter. He says the training went well and their department is better prepared for an incident involving propane and propane-related accessories.
