Columbus Boys Hoops Perfect In Capitol North

The Columbus boys basketball team (Overall: 11-4, Capitol North: 5-0) heads down the homestretch of the season with a conference championship on their mind.   After dropping their 1st three non-conference games of the season, the Cardinals have won 11 of their last 12, including all five Capitol North tilts.  Head Coach Ben Schambow says that one of the big reasons for his team’s success is that each player on his team has bought into their role and have been playing very unselfish basketball.  Senior Ben Emler leads C-Bus in scoring at 21ppg.  That includes a 35-point effort in their 61-35 win non-conference win over Platteville on February 3rd.   Coach Schambow says that his team still plays with an “underdog mentality” and even though they are leading the league, they feel like they have something to prove every game.   The Cardinals look to stay perfect in the Capitol North tonight when they host Lakeside Lutheran.  Columbus picked up a 46-32 road win at Lakeside Lutheran back on January 16th.
