Columbus Baseball Ready To Defend Title

The Columbus High School Baseball team is off a 3-0 start this season.  The defending Capitol North champs are picked as the favorite to win the league again in 2022 by the Baseball Wisconsin Yearbook.   The Cardinals return a pair of 1st team All-Capitol North players from last season in Christian Oppor and AJ Uttech.  Brady Schroeder was a 2nd Team All-Capitol North pick in 2021. Oppor has hit the mid-90s on the radar gun and has a chance to play college baseball at a very high level.

“We’re expecting to contend for the conference title this year.  I think if we don’t we’ll be disappointed and really expecting to make a deep run this year.” Head coach Tim Stormer told DailyDodge.com.   “We have a lot of quality athletes.  A lot of really good baseball players and we have some young kids that are really pushing the older kids to get on the playing field.  We should be in pretty good shape this year.

The Cardinals jump back into action this afternoon against Lodi.  You can hear a full interview with Columbus head coach Tim Stormer on the sports tab at DailyDodge.com.
