The proposed 2013 Columbia County budget would raise taxes for property owners. The county board got a look at the budget this week. It includes a tax levy of $24.6-million. That’s up .04% or about $103,000. And it results in a proposed mill rate of $5.11 per $1,000 of assessed value, an increase of 16-cents from the 2012 budget. The increase comes despite the budget itself being down $1.7-million to $65.9-million. The board is expected to vote on approving the budget at their November 13th meeting.
