(Columbia County) Columbia County recorded their second COVID-19 death Monday. Health Officer Susan Lorenz says they are deeply saddened by the loss of another one of their community members and their thoughts are with family and friends. To date, Columbia County has had 252 people test positive for coronavirus. Lorenz is strongly encouraging people to wear face coverings when around others and to practice physical distancing of at least six feet whenever possible. She says in doing so you are not only helping protect yourself but also your family, friends, neighbors and fellow community members. In Columbia County, testing for COVID-19 is provided at Aspirus Divine Savior Healthcare in Portage and Prairie Ridge Healthcare in Columbus. Lorenz says that a free community testing site is located at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. Columbia County health officials released their figures after the state health department’s 2pm update.
