(Portage) The Columbia County Health Department Monday will begin scheduling vaccination appointments for the remaining Phase 1A and 65-and-older population. Last week, county health officials held their first COVID-19 vaccination clinic where 200 Phase 1A eligible clients were vaccinated. They say as they work through scheduling those 65-and-up, note that there are 700-thousand people in Wisconsin who fall into that age group. Health officials also say that due to the limited amount of vaccine doses being allocated, they may have to stop taking appointments and ask that people call back when future clinics are scheduled. To schedule an appointment for the next vaccination clinic, call the county’s health and human services department at 608-742-9227 starting at 1pm today. People will need to provide a phone number or an email address when calling.
