(Columbia County) A Columbia County Correctional Institution employee has been arrested for having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate. The sheriff’s office was contacted by Columbia Correctional last Thursday about the alleged relationship.
Sheriff’s detectives began an investigation and learned that a civilian employee was having illegal sexual relations with an inmate and had delivered items from outside the institution. The employee was reportedly identified as Gabrielle Gavinski of Endeavor who was taken into custody.
The 29-year-old is facing charges of Second-Degree Sexual Assault of Correctional Staff, Manufacture and Deliver THC, and Deliver Illegal Articles to an Inmate.
During Gavinski’s initial appearance in court, she was released on a $25,000 signature bond. Columbia County authorities say this investigation is on-going and additional charges may be filed.
