(Leeds) Authorities in Columbia County are still trying to piece together details of a year-old homicide investigation. Keith Wolf of rural Poynette was shot on September 27th of 2019 when he went to investigate a noise he heard coming from the basement. His wife called 911 around 9:20pm from the Town of Leeds residence. She told investigators that the 35-year-old grabbed a gun before investigating the disturbance and then she found him dead at the bottom of the stairs. Sheriff Roger Brandner says their office has teamed up with state and federal investigators, forensic scientists and criminal analysts to work diligently on this case. He adds technology recently made available to them has led to the development of new investigative leads from the forensic evidence seized from Wolf’s home. Brandner says this was not a random act and that Wolf’s family deserves answers for what happened to him. There is a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest. The public is encouraged to contact the Columbia County Crime Stoppers tip line or Detective Tim Schultz.
