Columbia County Authorities Arrest Carjacking Suspect

(Lodi) A Middleton man is facing numerous charges after fleeing Dane and Columbia County authorities following a strong-armed robbery Friday. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office were notified of an attempt to locate just before 9am for a suspect involved in a carjacking that occurred in Madison.

The vehicle was located by a Columbia County sheriff’s deputy around 10:30am heading to the city of Lodi. A Lodi police officer tried to pull the vehicle over but the driver refused to stop. A short time after the pursuit started, a second officer was able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device on the suspect vehicle.

The chase continued along Highway 113, but with reduced speeds due to the tires being deflated. It eventually ended when the damaged vehicle spun out and entered the west ditch. The suspect, reportedly identified as Keewan Singleton, attempted to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody.

The 34-year-old is facing felony Eluding charges, Operating a Motor Vehicle without the Owner’s Consent, and numerous traffic offenses. Singleton could also face charges in Dane and Sauk counties as those jurisdictions are still conducting their own investigations into the incident.
