Clyman Woman Makes Initial Appearance On Charges She Attacked Two Nurses

(Beaver Dam) A Clyman woman accused of attacking two Beaver Dam hospital nurses made her initial appearance in court Monday. Kiara Ivans is facing two felony charges of Battery to an Emergency Rescue Worker.

While Ivans was being treated at the hospital in March, she allegedly became verbally abusive, and staff determined she needed to be placed in restraints. According to the criminal complaint, a nurse was kicked in the chest by Ivans and another was kicked in the head causing her left cheek to swell and bruise.

If convicted, the 20-year-old faces up to 12 years in prison. A signature bond was set at $1,000 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 26th.
