Clean Sweep Program Returns to Dodge County

(Dodge County) The Clean Sweep program is returning to Dodge County again later this summer. The program allows Dodge County residents to dispose of unwanted pesticides, household products, and chemicals safely and legally. Officials with Dodge County UW Extension says the Clean Sweep will be offered on Saturday, August 26th at the Dodge County Highway Department Shop on County Road A in the town of Trenton from 8am until noon. Household hazardous materials will be collected for a $10 fee per vehicle. There is free drop off for hazardous materials from agricultural producers and small businesses, but it requires pre-registration through the Extension. Items generally accepted as part of the Clean Sweep program include pesticides, household cleaners and agricultural materials, along with light bulbs, mercury thermometers, and oil and metal-based paints. Items that will NOT be accepted include explosives, human medical and biological wastes, radioactive materials, compressed gas cylinders, alkaline batteries, used motor oils, fertilizer, tires, and anti-freeze.
