City Flags Flown At Half-Staff For Longtime Waupun Alderwoman

(Waupun) Funeral services were held this week for longtime Waupun Alderwoman Nancy Vanderkin. She died on Wednesday, December 21st at Waupun Memorial Hospital with her daughters at her side. She was 74 years old.

Her funeral was held at the Waupun City Hall Auditorium. In her honor of Vanderkin, Waupun Mayor Rohn Bishop had asked that the city of Waupun flag be flown at half-staff at Waupun Utilities and Shaler Park. Vanderkin was a longtime member of the Police and Fire Commission.

Bishop says she was always looking out for their fire and police professionals, and also enjoyed her time on the city’s utility commission. Nancy and her husband Larry Vanderkin owned and operated the Last Chapter restaurant in Waupun for many years. He preceded her in death in 2002.
