Church Health Services Hosting German-Themed Fundraiser

(Beaver Dam) A local non-profit is holding an internationally-themed fundraising event later this summer. Tickets are now available at Rechek’s Food Pride and Beaver Dam Piggly Wiggly for Church Health Services ‘Evening in Germany.’ The event includes music, German-themed food, an indoor beer hall and an outdoor beer garden along with a live and silent auction. During a recent appearance on WBEV’s Community Comment, Bev Beal-Loeck said this year’s honorary chairs are Steve and Kathy Westra who have played a crucial role in spreading what Church Health Services does outside of Dodge County. The Westra’s will be tasked with tapping the keg and greeting guests. Thea O-Conner with Church Health Services explains the criteria for being named an honorary chair. She says they look for people committed to their cause and have supported them in their efforts over the years. All proceeds go towards Church Health Services in their mission to assist low income, uninsured and underinsured individuals with general health coverage. The organization has recently expanded their offerings to provide dental care for children. An ‘Evening in Germany’ will be held on August 4th at Old Hickory Golf Course.
