6/5/11 – Columbus High School will take their first step into “solar power” education over the next few weeks. The solar panel demonstration project just completed at the School will allow students and the public to use the internet to monitor solar power provided by the newly installed panels. The project was made possible by grants from WPPI Energy and the state’s “Focus on Energy” program. The panels will produce about 6,000 kilowatt hours of energy per year and save the School over $600 dollars in annual energy costs.
