CELEBRITIES…DISH!

White Sugar Christmas Cut-Out Cookies

Susan Wallintin, the ARC of Dodge County

This recipe is from Susan’s grandmother. She used to make dozens of these during the Christmas season, which the grandchildren would help decorate (and then EAT!). They are delicious!

White Sugar Christmas Cut-Out Cookies

1 c. butter

1 c. sugar

3 c. flour

2 tsp. cream of tartar

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. vanilla extract or ground nutmeg (or a little of both)

3 whole eggs

Cream butter and sugar well; add eggs; beat until light and fluffy. Add flavoring and sifted dry ingredients. Mix to make soft dough (do not over mix or cookies will be tough). Roll rather thin. Bake cut outs at 300° for about 8 minutes.
