Cash Bond Set At $10K For Sun Prairie Man Charged With Theft Of Beaver Dam Business

(Beaver Dam) Cash bond was set at $10,000 Wednesday for a Sun Prairie man charged with stealing from a Beaver Dam business. Kenneth Maclin is facing a felony charge of Retail Theft and Bail Jumping as well as several misdemeanor drug charges. A Beaver Dam police officer was called to the business, redacted in the criminal complaint, on Tuesday (November 2nd) for a retail theft in progress. The complainant reported that someone was walking out a back door with TV’s as well as a cart full of merchandise and had gotten into a vehicle and driven away. The vehicle was later spotted by police and was pulled over on North Spring Street near Woodland Drive. Maclin was reportedly identified as the culprit. The 51-year-old allegedly admitted to his actions and said he was going to sell the items to buy cocaine. The totally dollar amount of the items allegedly taken by Maclin totaled $2,663. If convicted, Maclin faces over 10 years behind bars. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 11th.
