Carol A. Fehling

Carol A. Fehling, 87, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Clearview Nursing Home with her family by her side. Carol Ann was born on May 21, 1936 the daughter of Arnold and Adelia (Kohn) Soldner in Columbus, Wisconsin. On January 31, 1953, she was united in marriage with John “Butch” Fehling in Reeseville, Wisconsin. Carol had been employed for over 33 years at Weyenberg Shoe Factory, where she also became a Union Steward. She was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Carol enjoyed reading and completing word finds. She loved football, polkas, dancing and car trips. Carol will be fondly remembered for establishing the family’s annual tradition of going out to look at Christmas lights around town. Carol will be deeply missed by her children: Vicki (Richard) Schlatter of Lake Mills, John (Maurene) Fehling of Sun Prairie, Lana (Quendin) Sterwald of Clyman, Nadine Lester (Jeff Loeck) of Fox Lake and Mary (Ray) Garris of Beaver Dam; 12 loving grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; a very special cousin Jeannie Grosnick. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John “Butch” in 1992, daughter Lori Hofer, granddaughter Kari Sterwald and her sister Mae Sommers. A visitation for Carol will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Rd, Beaver Dam and on Monday, February 12th from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 400 Hillcrest Drive, Beaver Dam. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Jesse Gullion officiating. Interment will follow at Lowell Cemetery, where Carol will be laid to rest next to her husband John. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful nursing staff of Clearview Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care of Carol. Your kindness will always be remembered.
