Vehicle Sales In Region Pacing Behind Last Year

(Dodge County) Overall vehicles sales in Dodge County are lagging behind last year’s numbers while truck sales have seen a slight increase. According to the Waterloo-based, industry tracking firm Reg-Trak, there were 2,934 vehicles sold in Dodge County through October, around 120 less than by the same time one year ago, a decrease of four-percent. Truck sales were up nearly a percentage point while car sales dropped 32-percent.

Columbia County fared about the same with just over 2,000 vehicles sold in the first ten-months of this year, which is 130 less than last year, a decrease of five-percent. Car sales in Columbia County were down 27-percent while truck sales decreased two-percent.

Jefferson County had 2,000 vehicles rolling off dealer lots this year, roughly 400 less than last year by this time for a drop of 17-percent. Car sales in Jefferson County were down 37-percent while truck sales dropped 13-percent.

For the nine-county, south central Wisconsin region as a whole vehicle sales were down 12-percent with 34-thousand, 700 sold. Car sales were down 30-percent while trucks sales decreased seven-percent.
